This Guy's Rendition Of A Famous Lynyrd Skynyrd Hit Is Giving The Band A Run For Their Money

This might actually be better than the original!

After so many years, ‘American Idol’ finally came to an end in 2016. The show gave us some truly incredible singers and memorable performances. Trent Harmon’s rendition of ‘Simple Man’ by Lynyrd Skynyrd was definitely one of the best!

Harmon’s performance of the 1973 song didn’t just blow the audience away. In fact, his stunning rendition brought Hollywood starlet and seasoned judge, Jennifer Lopez, to tears!

“ … having this front seat to watching the perfect song and the perfect singer sing it at that time,” Lopez said with tears in her eyes. “ … I’ve been so lucky the five years that I’ve got to be on this show and watch things like that.’”

Overwhelmed at the amazing compliment, the southern Mississippi man found himself also getting a little emotional onstage!

Not surprisingly, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. chimed in to wholeheartedly agree with their fellow female judge.

“First of all for me, that is absolutely my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd song, always has been,” Urban said. “It’s so lyrically perfect for you. And I love how you took the soul aspect of it, the gospel of it, the Southern aspect, and twisted it all in there.”
