13 Annoying Things About Star Wars

These films might be classics, but they’re not perfect

The Star Wars films are among the greatest of all time. The original trilogy is lauded as one of the finest cinematic triumphs in history. The prequels… weren’t as good. But Episode VII gave fans a new hope for a brighter future and now Rogue One is here to take us, once again, to a a galaxy far, far away. But let’s take a look at some of the more annoying features of this famous franchise.

1. Ewoks

Let’s get this out of the way. When you really get down to it, the Star Wars films are family films. Having furry little bear things in a family film is fine, and most kid viewers don’t have e a problm with the Ewoks. However, as we get older and look at the films in a different light, it becomes pretty clear that these cuddly companions were one of George Lucas’ worst decisions. The fact that they’re able to defeat a whole legion of stormtroopers with nothing but rocks is just ridiculous.

2. Child Boba Fett

Boba Fett is awesome. Part of the reason why he’s so awesome is because, originally, he was so mysterious. We had no idea who was under that mask or what his story really was. Then, in the prequels, we meet Boba as a kid and learn that he’s a bit boring and is actually just a clone of Jango Fett.

3. Nute Gunray

The Viceroy not only has a rather racist accent, he also happens to be incredibly annoying, dull and cowardly. He’s a completely pointless character and the world would have been better off without him.

4. Luke Skywalker in A New Hope

Woah, we know what you’re thinking, but hear us out. Luke is obviously one of the best characters ever, but if you go back and watch ‘A New Hope’ again, you realize just how immature he is. He’s 16 at that point and has all the annoying attributes of any 16 year old. He whines, he mopes, he calls the Millennium Falcon a “piece of junk”, and he’s not exactly the hero he later becomes.

5. Jedi Hairstyles

Specifically, we’re talking about the “Padawan braids”. Lucas says that the braid is a symbol of a Jedi’s status. When a Padawan becomes a full-fledged Jedi, he can lose the braid. The idea isn’t bad, but in reality it just looks stupid, especially on poor Ewan McGregor.

6. Boss Nass

The Gungans in general are a much-despised race, but their leader is one of the worst. His voice, his mannerisms, his actions, there’s very little to like about Boss Nass. Even his name sounds cool at first¬†before you realize it’s actually quite stupid.
